Accessorize!!!

This year, arm candy was the must have accessory
of the Oscars red carpet.

 "Hearts of Winter Cuff
This one of a kind cuff bracelet symbolizes the frozen ice of winter and is made of 2,368 rose-cut, round brilliant diamonds weighing 163 carats, all with D color and VVS clarity. After seeing the Nutcracker ballet, Anna imagined this exquisite all‐white jewel for the snow queen. $1,000,000
Duchess Hibiscus Ring
Anna has elevated the double-hoop ring into a work of art that is also eminently wearable. Two hoops are joined side by side so they can be worn on two adjacent fingers, or they can be pressed together and worn on one finger. Rose cut and round diamonds with purple sapphires set in 18-karat white gold. $160,000" ~PR News Wire

And my absolute favorite was Emma Stone's Louis Vuitton bracelet!

Best Dressed!

... Because, I believe she was not pushed by a stylist/publicist/image maker and wore exactly what she wanted. And even though I don't think it went far enough for the event... for Best Dressed - Personal Style Shailene Woodley in Valentino Couture.

..... and then, Viola Davis stepped forward in Vera Wang.  Stunning! Emerald green topped off by a new Auburn coif ... perfection!
Pic - Beauty is Diverse
..... And we all sat back in our seats knowing that whether Viola won the Oscar or not, she had knocked it out of the park on the Red Carpet.

Wait a minute? Is it a bird, is it a plane?  No it's Super Gwyneth Paltrow, flying in with a Tom Ford cape.  Genuflect... Best Dressed, Gwyneth Paltrow.

Zelda Kaplan

Eating breakfast in front of the computer (dangerous... spills can ruin your keyboard) and this tweet stopped me mid chew:

thefashionbomb 8:33am The Fashion Bomb News Breakdown: Socialite Zelda Kaplan Dies During A Fashion Show, Kim Kardashian Covers This... dlvr.it/1CVfyr

Whaaaaaat? I sat next to her at the IVANAhelsinki show in 2010... it was like sitting next to a really cool and really famous girlfriend.  She posed for a barrage of photographers, and as soon as the last photographer snapped his picture she turned to me, put out her hand and said, "Hi. Zelda. What's your name...." and then proceeded to introduce me to everyone around us and everyone who stopped by.... "This is Rhonda Ryan, she's a fashion writer, what's the name of your blog again?"  I must have said The Style Shepherd 20 times.  How generous was that?

Confirmed: Kanye West to Show at Paris Fashion Week on March 6

Wednesday, Feb 8, 2012 / 9:00 AM

There have been rumors, and Kanye all but confirmed it on Twitter, but now we know with certainty that we can look forward to (or dread) a second Kanye West collection and runway show. Karla Otto, Kanye West’s PR agency, confirmed to WWD that West will show at 9.30 p.m. on March 6. The venue has yet to be confirmed.
All we’ve been able to gather about the line since last season is that it’s called Kanye West (not DW), he moved to London to work on it (and we hear he’s getting help from some pretty legit designers there), he wants everyone to give him a chance to grow and critics will probably be pretty hesitant to do that. Also, based on this tweet, the second since his infamous two-hour tirade, we can expect some crepe chiffon.
As far as we know, the widely panned spring 2012 collection hasn’t been picked up by any retailers or really gotten off the ground in any way. So, it will obviously be interesting to see what happens this time. He’s clearly passionate and wants to succeed and was not blind to the criticism, so this collection will have to be an improvement, right?
Hope he performs well under pressure!

Differ...ent days, different ways, but the 31 hour bag stays the same. A supple nappa leather in a classic tote shape with a play on proportion.
