Dressed up for Easter
It's a rainy Saturday in Philadelphia and while having breakfast (raisin bagel with Philadelphia cream cheese and Orange Juice with a little pulp) I'm browsing the tweetworld... just checking in on my tweeties,  before I run off to the John Wind/Maximal Art trunk show at Joan Sheep.
And this retweet from Southern Living Magazine peeks my interest -

Wow! RT @voguemagazine: Vogue asked designers to re-imagine the easter egg. Here are our favorites-edible & otherwise.

After seeing these eggs... If I ever have to color eggs for Easter again, I'm definitely going to be more creative!

My faves.......

Eddie Borgo is featured in this month's Vogue America's Last Look.  I'm so in love with the rose gold plated bracelet and pave-crystal bracelet. An homage to Sex Pistol Sid Vicious.  Fabulous!

Happy Easter!

Andy Drew 2 does Jewelry!

I've been a big fan of Andy Drew 2 for quite some time

... check out some earlier post

.... so you can imagine how pleased I was discovering this gorgeous necklace while browsing his facebook page.  And it's the way I want to go for spring/summer.... Caliente! Hot colors and natural fabrics that ooze ethnic urban chic.  I know that punchy colors are hot for this season (I'm really diggin' Kate Spade Spring 2011... get your jaw off the flloor... I know, it's cute and preppy but there were more than a few pieces that I liked this year. *Shrug* the times they are a changin') but I like an edgier look for spring.  Maybe soft fabrics and statement jewelry, like my new favorite Andy Drew creation  is the way to go. Ciao!

Fab Gifts for Mom

So this Mother's Day is really special for me, and in the next few days
I'll be sharing my picks and some great finds
introduced to me at the Accessories Council twitter soiree.

When I saw this Accessories Council pick, a noon copenhagen watch I knew exactly who I wanted to gift it to.  It's perfect for a Godmother who is young, hip, has an affinity for bright color and anime.  This watch works in real life but it looks right out of the wardrobe of one of Satoshi Kon's ladies.
*sidenote - My favorite Satoshi Kon film is Tokyo Godfathers

Worship the Sun, in Michael Kors Sunnies!

 My life is so charmed!

Last Tuesday I was invited to the Accessories Council's Mother's Day top picks twitter party!

Let me lay the scene for you... I pop out of one of NYC's famed taxi's on 40th street, across from Bryant Park, and standing there looking fabulous is Philadelphia's own Phashionista Michelle Boyles, and Jimmy Contreras aka Jimmy Style.  We are whisked up to a beautiful minimally chic light box... the Marchon Eyewear penthouse showroom.  And at the door we are met by Social Media Maven Anne Agoren, and the President and heartbeat of the Accessories Council,  Karen Giberson

"Welcome, welcome, come in, have a glass a wine and get a good seat!".

The room was filled with fashion writers, fashion bloggers, and product designers!.... my kind of crowd, I was thrilled!  Not long after I settled into my seat the camera rolls and the show begins... (fast forward to 26:00)

And the Accessories Council's top pick that I'm wrapping up first, is a pair of fabulous Michael Kors Sunnies! The woman who's going to get them is a Diva and a Mom who will wear them with all the attitude they deserve.

Amar'e Stoudemire and Hamish Bowles

It's Sunday.

... so I'm reading through my American Vogue.
I'm always delighted to see an article from Hamish Bowles and this one does not disappoint.  It is witty, entertaining and as lively as we've come to expect from a Hamish authored story.

... and I'm thrilled to share Amar'e and Hamish's
delightful 'making of ' video.
