When my little bumpkins goes down for his afternoon nap, the first thing I do is meditate for ten minutes and then I pin like crazy for 20 minutes.....and ahhhhh I feel like myself again (less frazzled). While pinning I came acrooss Teri Rees Wang's pinboard Modern Madonna and Child, and I froze... look at Nadine Willis! I remember these ads (Gucci 2003)! And that's the Mother I envisioned I'd be. Chic, pulled together, and a size 8! Well, now I have a concrete image I can hearken back to when I'm debating about going out for a run, or having another slice of anything made by Entenmann's.
** So much easier to get it all done in yoga pants and a tee though***
As the Crow Flies
Yesterday was absolutely gorgeous! The perfect day for a Wild West Philly Craft Show..... And I pray it returns for many years. Truthfully, though I've been to many many many many craft fairs, and I
didn't see anything that I hadn't seen before. Everything was beautiful
and well made but... ya know it takes a real spark for me to let go of
my cash these days. I know, I know get to the point.... you want to know what I bought.
I bought an up-cycled onesie for my sugahplum from Local Philadelphia Artist Wilder Scott-Straight. Her booth was a very cool amalgamation of vintage suitcases filled with charming little embroidered shirts, and sweaters. Ya know what they reminded me of? Have you ever seen The Triplets of Belleville? You must see it if you have'nt.... her whole booth and product made me think about the Grandmother and her cyclist grandson... very french, in a comfort food sort of way. And when I looked up Wilder Scott-Straight's Pins! OMG... it was all very chic, and familiar. Ugh! I'm searching my sleep deprived brain for the words (Sugahplum sleeps for 5 - 6 hours most nights).... like the smell of popcorn, a great big comforter and your favoriten foreign film, that's the feeling As the Crow Flies musters.
**** I also, lingered over a West Philly onsie from Vix Emporium, which I decided to wait to buy when I go there later this week to get a tee for me, and hopefully find a great birthday present for my BFF***
If you're a regular reader you KNOW that I'm a social networking super freak! Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and of course Blogger being my absolute faves! Yesterday, my Mother was over to see the baby... "ya gotta see the baby" and while he cooed and wriggled lovingly in her arms I sat in Lotus position to "check the book" LOL .... and the first thing in my Home Feed was this post by Skai Blue Media! That's my friend and fashion inspiration Denise Fike! Gorgeous!!!!
MY FIRST THOUGHT WAS.... WHAT EVENT IS THIS? SECOND THOUGHT.... WHO'S THE DESIGNER?
WHEN I FOUND OUT IT WAS THE KIDS CHOICE AWARDS, I THOUGHT, "HMMM... THIS MAY BE A MISSTEP", UNTIL I LOOKED AT THE REST OF THE ROCKnROLL ENSEMBLES THAT MADE AN APPEARANCE THAT NIGHT. CLEARLY I AM NOT THE TARGET AUDIENCE OF KIDS CHOICE OR I WOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER.
